CEF and Conservatives in the City are jointly hosting a webinar 'The challenges and opportunities facing the City' with Bim Afolami MP. The event will be chaired by Stephen Hammond MP and is being held under the Chatham House Rule.

Bim was first elected as the MP for Hitchin and Harpenden in the 2017 General Election and was re-elected at the 2019 General Election. He is the current chair of the APPG for Financial Markets and Services.

Bim served as a political adviser at the House of Commons, before spending ten years in the City advising some of the biggest companies in the world, both British and international – first as a corporate lawyer at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, then as a Senior Executive at HSBC. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Ditchley Foundation. He has also served as a primary school governor for several years.
