Entering into a Framework Participation Agreement (FPA) with the European Union would enable the UK to participate in Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) missions on a case-by-case basis. This arrangement allows the UK to contribute to European and global security whenever it aligns with its national interests. Such participation would facilitate the UK’s involvement in various CSDP missions, helping to manage crises, support post-conflict reconstruction, and promote international peace. This agreement would also align the UK with other NATO allies and adhere to the commitments outlined in the Political Declaration agreed upon by Boris Johnson in 2019.
